ABOUT US

Our Mission

The purpose of our practice is to support as many people as possible in their quest for health and to educate them about chiropractic, acupuncture, and nutritional solutions without the use of unnecessary drugs or surgery.

Located on Main Street in Center Moriches, Whitaker Chiropractic and Wellness has always been a family practice. Sister and brother team Dr. John and Dr. Jane founded the practice in 1986 with a strong desire to bring non-invasive treatment options to the community they grew up in, thrive in, and remain firmly involved with.

We are a family practice. We're a family of doctors who also treat families. Our patients' overall health and well-being are our top priority. From pre-natal care right through to increased mobility for patients in their golden years, we work diligently to ensure a better quality of life at all stages of life.

Meet the Doctors

Dr. John Whitaker

Dr. John Whitaker is a Chiropractor with advanced degrees in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, and Advanced Clinical Nutrition. He graduated with honors from New York College for Wholistic Health Education and Research, is a certified NAET (Allergy Elimination Technique) practitioner and is also trained as an Advanced Clinician in Nutrition Response Testing™.

By using alternative treatment techniques, Dr. Whitaker is often able to speed healing for hard to treat cases or address the needs of individuals looking to optimize their well-being with a comprehensive natural approach to health.

The success of his patient care, in tandem with his business partner and sister, Dr. Jane Whitaker, has proven that if you provide the body with the specific treatment plan it needs, you can better support its innate ability to heal itself.

Dr. Jane Whitaker is a Chiropractor with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from SUNY Geneseo and a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life Chiropractic College. She is also certified in the Graston Technique.

Over time or through injury, myofascial tissue, which covers the entire body, can become scarred or tense. The Graston Technique lengthens myofascial tissue to reduce pain and provide a greater range of motion to patients.

The primary function of Dr. Whitaker's work is to correct vertebral subluxation and spinal joint restriction. In layman's terms, Chiropractic works with your body's natural healing process to re-align your spine and help you to move with significantly less pain.
